Your Google Business Profile Is Your (Free) Digital Storefront

The customers searching right now can't find you. Here's the 10-minute fix.

When someone nearby searches "plumber near me" or "roof repair in [city]," Google doesn't show websites first, it shows the map of Google Business Profiles. If yours is missing a few details, you're invisible to exactly the customers who are ready to buy right now.

Here's the good news: you can fix it in about 10 minutes, and it doesn't cost a cent.

The 10-minute fix

  1. Claim and verify (≈2 min). Search for your business on Google and claim your free profile. A verified listing looks trustworthy — and ranks better.

  2. Nail your category and services (≈2 min). Pick the single best primary category ("Plumber," not "Business"), then list every service you actually offer.

  3. Match your details everywhere (≈2 min). Make sure your hours, phone number, and website match what's on your site and social pages. Mismatched info confuses both Google and customers.

  4. Add real photos (≈2 min). A cover photo, your storefront or truck, and a few shots of finished work. Profiles with photos get more clicks and more calls.

  5. Finish your description and post (≈2 min). Write two sentences about what you do and where you serve, then publish one quick update so your profile looks active.

Why it works

Google rewards complete, active profiles with more visibility and customers trust them more. That means more calls, more direction requests, and more clicks to your website, without spending a dollar on ads.

You can knock out all five steps this afternoon.

Don't know how — or worried you'll get it wrong?

No problem. You don't have to be techy, and you don't have to do this alone. If the steps above feel confusing, or you've tried before and it still isn't bringing in calls, Blaze will handle it for you.

We set up and optimize your Google Business Profile, your website, and your local search so nearby customers find you first — no tech skills needed on your end, no long-term contracts, just measurable results.
